This island is a great value for the money. It is very functional with the drop leaf and it was not too difficult to assemble. Our only complaint is the storage, which is sparse. The storage tray for silverware is very shallow and the underneath storage area is a little smaller than expected. If all you are really looking for is extra counter space, this island is perfect.

I use it for food preparation, storing larger items behind the doors, kitchen utensils in the drawer ; I use the paper towel holder for my dish towel.
Since I live in a studio apartment my counter space is quite limited, therefore,
if the open space, above the doors, was a little higher I could position the microwave oven to open from the front rather than sideways which is
an inconvenience every time I use it.

This island is great for the price, especially if all you need it for is a little extra counter space. Our only complaint is with storage: The drawer for silverware, etc is a little too skinny, and the storage space in the bottom could use a shelf. But again, for what we paid for it, this island is wonderful.
